Taking It Easy (Thursday, March 8, 2007)

So I haven't updated much. The reality is, I'm taking it pretty easy. I was in such a hurry for a change of pace when I left webMethods, that I didn't stop and think about what sort of change I was looking for, and I ended up jumping into a very similar situation. It was more money, but also more hours, more stress, and a commute from hell. Silly me. So I packed it in there, and I've taken the past few weeks to really figure out what I want to do. I don't really have an answer yet. I know I'd like to finish my Master's Degree. That would open up some options as far as teaching, which I'd like to try my hand at one of these days. I've also been considering working for a new start-up, or even going into consulting — which might let me travel a bit more. In any event, I'm not in a rush to make up my mind. I'm enjoying putting my house back together, going to the gym a few extra times a week — I've lost seven pounds since I left Novell! About the only down side, is that I've managed to get my sleep schedule all out of wack. Now, it's time to get ready for bed, so I can get up at a reasonable hour tomorrow and go talk to some nice folks about a possible job and then play some racquetball.
