Warped Tour (Saturday, August 7, 2004)

I'm so tired... I can barely keep my eyes open. But I've been a bad boy and I haven't updated for a while. So I'm going to fake an entry right now. Okay, so eventful stuff... Wednesday, went to the Warped Tour at Nissan Pavilion. It was really, really hot, except at the end when it rained, which was cold. I wasn't a huge fan of most of the bands, but the highlights of the show were Sugarcult and Story of the Year. I also enjoyed a raucous set by the Vandals. I heard one band for the first time, Avenged Sevenfold, and they're really awesome. Another cool thing was the half-pipe they had set up, with pro skaters doing some awesome tricks. One of the skaters had an artificial leg, which was pretty cool. Aside from that, the best thing about the show was the politics — everywhere, it was "Rock united against Bush". They had booths registering people to vote. It was really great.

Last night, I met up with Ben at Copeland's, and had a few drinks and caught up. Matt the bartender proved once again how awesome he is, because I was idling chatting about how I felt like a sandwich, and what great sandwiches Matt made when we were at his house, and presto! a few minutes later he comes out with a sandwich. It was yummy... and he didn't even charge me for it! I really need to make it a point to spend more time there. It's just such a great place.

Then tonight, Claire and I went to the uncensored version of Comedy Sportz at Ballston. It was really funny, and they managed to keep the humor mostly clever, and not Adam Sandler-ish.

Okay, so this has been really sparse on content... too bad, I'm exhausted, and I must go to sleep. More tomorrow, or sometime! Good night.
