Sugarcult Lyrics (Thursday, May 20, 2004)

Shopping last night was pretty much a complete failure. I couldn't find any clothes for me, no candles, no frame for Claire... sad. I did buy this neato classic Nintendo game thingie. Then I went to racquetball, where John and I dismantled my father and my brother. But I think my brother will be a serious contender, once he gets back into shape. Afterwards, Claire came over, and we went to Sweetwater Tavern for dinner. That was yummy — but now I have a leftover pork chop, and two types of chicken strips that I need to eat eventually. Claire stayed the night, which is really very pleasant. I love having her with me.

This morning, I left her at my place while I went to my appointment at TLC, where they decided they're going to do a touch up procedure on my right eye to clean up the astigmatism. That will be very nice. So I have another appointment in two weeks. After that, I discovered the joys of the toll road, as I was able to get from Merrifield to Reston in like fifteen minutes. In Reston, I met Joe at On the Border for lunch. Lunch was fajitas, and very good, and at a surprisingly good price. As always, I enjoyed my time with Joe, though as I suspected, he doesn't think Rebecca will be too receptive to my renewed relationship (if you want to call it that) with Claire. But I made him promise to make her behave! If only I could get Elaine to promise to behave, we'd be all set. In the meantime, Claire better watch her back... on the one hand I like having girls fighting over me, but on the other hand, it does make life more complicated.

Now, I'm listening to Pink Floyd's album Division Bell, which I hadn't heard in ages, and it's putting me to sleep. And I finally ripped a copy of Sugarcult's Start Static CD. Here're some lyrics for you:

Pretty girl is suffering while he confesses everything
Pretty soon she'll figure out what his intentions were about
And that's what you get for falling again
You can never get him out of your head
And that's what you get for falling again
You can never get him out of your head

It's the way that he makes you feel
It's the way that he kisses you
It's the way that he makes you fall in love

She's beautiful as usual with bruises on her ego and
Her killer instinct tells her to be aware of evil men
And that's what you get for falling again
You can never get him out of your head
And that's what you get for falling again
You can never get him out of your head

It's the way that he makes you feel
It's the way that he kisses you
It's the way that he makes you fall in love

Pretty girl is suffering while he confesses everything
Pretty soon she'll figure out
You can never get him out of you head

It's the way that he makes you cry,
It's the way that he's in your mind,
It's the way that he makes you fall in love,
It's the way that he makes you feel,
It's the way that he kisses you,
It's the way that he makes you fall in love.

I can't wait for work to be over... I want to see Shrek 2 tonight, and go shopping for clothes. And spend more time with my Pretty Girl.
